Personal shopping

A personal shopper in London.

Somebody who knows the shops, walks them with you, and says honestly what works.

Not advice. A day’s work.

A stylist tells you what suits you. A personal shopper goes and finds it with you. Honey does both, on the same day, for the same money.

The route is planned first

Honey works out the day before where you are going and in what order, from what you said in the form. You spend the hours trying things on rather than walking between shops hoping.

You buy at the till

Whatever you buy, you pay the shop yourself. Nothing is marked up and nothing is bought on your behalf, so the only money that comes to Splurge is the fee for the session.

An honest second opinion

A shop assistant is paid when you buy. Honey is not, so she will tell you to leave something on the rail, and that is usually the sentence people remember.

Who books a shopping day.

People visiting London with one day and a list. People who have lived here years and still buy the same thing in the same shop. People who hate shopping and would rather it were done properly once.

The questions people ask.

What does a personal shopper in London cost?

At Splurge, £250 for three hours and £450 for a full day. That is the fee for Honey’s time. What you buy in the shops you pay for yourself, at the till, at the shop’s own price.

What is the difference between a personal shopper and a personal stylist?

A personal stylist works out what suits you and why. A personal shopper comes with you and finds it. Honey is both, so a session is the advice and the shopping in the same afternoon rather than two appointments.

Do I need a big budget to book a personal shopper?

No. Tell Honey what you want to spend and the day is planned around it. The point is leaving with things you will actually wear, which is as much about what you do not buy.
